Cameron Highland’s salubrious climate is not just an ideal getaway to rest and relax amidst serene greenery and gorgeous flowers as it is also a great venue for fitness and sporting events.
One such occasion that is soon going to take place at the highlands is the upcoming Cameron Highland 18 Celsius Fun Run which is being organised by Copthorne Hotels.
General Manager of Copthorne Hotels, Patrick Tee said the 11 km non-competitive run will be held around the vicinity of Kea Farm and Tringkap near the hotel’s vicinity.
The run is a follow-up to a similar event last year and it has been listed as one of the 2016 tourism state events of Pahang, which Patrick hopes will attract a bigger number of participants this time.
“Participants will be treated to fantastic views along the 10 km off road trail which also passes through vegetable farms where one can see farmers and workers busily tending their crops.
“It will be a great way to test your fitness level as well as get glimpses of great mountain views at the same time, “he said to Suara Perak.
The best part, according to Patrick is that participants will be allowed access to trails used for transporting vegetables from the farms which are generally not open to public.
There is also the chance to take great photos along the way and win prizes for the best pictures for the event which will be held on Sunday, July 24.
“We expect 500 participants but want more people from around the country to get involved,” he said adding that entry fees for the first 500 people to take part is RM55 each and thereafter it will be RM65.
Patrick said for the photo contest part, participants need to have Facebook accounts to participate.
